Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, attending the meeting in person, clearly stated that the hybrid model is unacceptable. On the other hand, India’s Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) remained firm, citing their government's refusal to allow the Indian cricket team to travel to Pakistan over security concerns.

A senior ICC administrator revealed that discussions were brief and inconclusive, with all parties agreeing to meet again on Saturday, November 29, to continue the dialogue. Despite the disagreements, ICC is under pressure to find a solution, as broadcaster Star Sports may reconsider its multi-billion dollar deal if the tournament is disrupted.

The PCB, however, faces significant financial risks if the hybrid model is implemented. Pakistan stands to lose not only a hosting fee of USD 6 million but also gate revenues and annual earnings, which amount to approximately USD 35 million.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs reiterated their position, stating that security concerns make it impossible for the Indian cricket team to travel to Pakistan. The MEA spokesperson confirmed that BCCI’s stance aligns with the government’s decision.
